He went on to say that it takes a certain attitude and set of actions in order to achieve the level of success that Virgin has experienced. 1. Pursue your dreams.
If you are following your dreams with all of your passion, you will live a much happier life all around. Those who are fortunate enough to pursue their dreams for a living usually end up successful and happy.
2. Do good things.
You should strive to make a difference in people’s lives on a daily basis. If your business isn’t doing good, something is wrong. Businesses owe their existence to their customers. When they do good for their customers, their customers will do good in return.
3. Believe in your ideas.
When you are passionately committed to your ideas, it can mean the difference between success and failure. You need to be proud of what you are doing or no one else will be. If you stick to being the very best at what you do, the growth and profit will soon follow.
4. Have fun with it.
If you aren’t having fun while you are working toward success then you are doing it wrong. If your employees can enjoy themselves every day and have fun at work then they will genuinely care about your customers. You should look to hire people who are positive and look for the good in others. People who enjoy giving praise to others.
5. Never give up.
There may come a time in every adventure where the going gets tough and you start to look around and ask yourself if you should go on. The key here is to stick to it even when you feel like walking away. You will be amazed at what you can achieve when you don’t give up.
6. Keep track of goals, take notes often and listen.
Evolve to a listening culture and watch what obstacles can be overcome. Make sure to write down your goals so you can keep track of them. Make lists of ideas as they come to mind or are mentioned so that you don’t lose them.
7. Delegate responsibilities and get in more family time.
It is important to delegate the responsibilities that you don’t like to do or are no good at. Hire people who are good at doing things you hate doing so that you can spend more time planning your business. Also be sure to spend plenty of time with your family. 8. Communicate, collaborate and communicate again.
Steve Jobs knew how to run a business. He knew that in order to be productive people need to communicate with others and be able to collaborate with each other. You need to cultivate this type of environment for the sake of your employees and your business.
9. Unplug and go outside.
If you sit in front of a screen all day or spend all day on the phone, you need to unplug from all the tech and get outside. Even if all you do is walk outside into the open air, just take some time away from all the chaos of technology and enjoy some peace to yourself.
10. Do what you love.
As long as you are actually doing what you love to do and you are surrounded by the people that you love, nothing else matters. It doesn’t matter how much money that you make, or even where you live, just do what you love.
